Bob Thorsen, DVM

Dr. Robert “Bob” Thorsen received his B.A. in Biology at Anderson College and graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. While attending veterinary school Dr. Bob met his now-wife, Dr. Lori. After they had both graduated from veterinary school, they practiced separately for four years before teaming up into the dynamic duo they are today to practice medicine together.

Dr. Bob has found fulfillment in being a general practitioner and enjoys performing general surgery. He remains eager to learn the latest advances in veterinary medicine, seeking opportunities for continuing education and consulting with his colleagues.

Dr. Bob is always on the move, entertaining himself with hobbies such as scuba diving, biking, and hiking. A few of his favorite hikes include Mount Whitney in California, the Kalalau Trail in Hawaii, and the Havasupai Trail Falls in Arizona that descends into the Grand Canyon. Passionate to his pursuit of physical training, Dr. Bob has also participated a few times in the Dakota 5-0, a spectacular biking trail through the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Together, Dr. Bob and Dr. Lori have 3 children, Oak, Lily, and Zeb. Dr. Bob and Dr. Lori both currently reside in Glenwood Springs with their 4 dogs, Navarre, Clementine, Charisma, and Felicity as well as their 3 cats, Yuki, Tyto, and Sriracha.

If you were a dog breed, what would you be and why? “I’d be a wolf, so I could be wild and free in nature.”
